The course starts with the situation after the Napoleonic wars and follows the changes in the European international regime until the present. There have been periods of both integration and disintegration and different regions have been both included and excluded during the integration processes. Since WW II integration has become a deliberate process in Europe. Economic aspects such as trade, monetary problems, growth, economic policy, the labour market and the development of the European social models are studied. The course EKHE33 The break with the Old Order deals with the earlier European. The two courses can be followed individually and are also offered as sub-courses within EKHE30 Europe in the World Economy.
